Introduction

Although diagnostic technology is rapidly developing in the last 2-3 decades so also the treatment there is no method or system to measure pain. We largely depend upon symptoms of the disease and feelings expressed by patient. Mostly they are incomplete or exaggerated often patients avoid to express truth fully. As such it is extremely difficult for the doctor to assess the correct condition of the patients only on the basis of symptoms due to inadequacies of proper information. At the same time there are no instruments or any parameter to assess pain correctly. The case here is Rheumatic Arthritis, Osteo arthritis Knee joint pain etc.,

While modern drugs do give temporary relief they do not offer permanent answer without side effects. The prolonged use of these medicines give rise to serious side effects. In view of these reasons we have to look to alternative to cure the above noted diseases. In this case Ayurvedic Medicines which give considerable relief to the patients and the same time they do not result in any side effects in case of prolonged use. These medicines successfully control swelling, inflammation and pain etc. They cause proper blood circulation to the affected part with the result there is free movements of parts affected and pain reduced considerably and ultimately the patient is cured.

We therefore took up the Clinical trials of RUDRA COMPOUND an Ayurvedic preparation of Rudraksha Ayurved Pvt. Ltd.,, Jabalpur for assessing its efficacy and effect on the patients to cure arthritis, swelling, sciatica and pains etc.,

Rudracompound Capsule contains Guggul, Haldi, Pipal, Neemchal, Ashwaghadha, Chitrak, Deodar, Rasna, & Lahsoon etc.,

Material & Methods

For the purpose of Clinical Trials 100 (Hundred) consecutive patients were selected in our Hospital from Aug 1994 to Oct. 1994.

Dosage - Rudracompound

1 Capsule three times a day for 10 days.

In addition to the medicines simple exercises were prescribed.

Patients were assessed clinically and all of them were given capsules RUDRACOMPOUND and prescribed some Simple exercises for 10 days.

OBSERVATIONS :

1. Within 3 days of commencing the therapy swelling was reduced and patients got substantial relief.

2. By the time treatment got over after 10 days course, swelling disappeared and the patients were
‘completely cured from paint.

3. None of the patients showed any side effects.

4. Drug was tolerated by the patients very well and they experienced good result.

It was observed from the trials, RUDRACOMPOUND gives remarkable results within short period of treatment and without any kind of side effect. It so quite safe to use for long time for various chronic illness.

It is concluded, based on trials at our hospital and result obtained RUDRACOMPOUND is very useful drug as a first line therapy for various Joint pains, Back ache and Rheumatic Arthritis conditions etc., in all age groups.
